AI Autonomous Drone Succeeds in Safe Flight in a Storm

The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) team successfully conducted a test flight under strong winds and heavy rain through an autonomous drone controlled by AI. The drone controlled the flight by itself by analyzing air condition and weather data in real time, and landed safely.

The researchers explained, "Human pilots also need to make quick judgments, but AI can instantly calculate data and select the optimal route." This test is an important event that shows that AI can have real-time response capabilities in dangerous situations beyond simple assistive roles. Experts predict that AI piloting technology can be introduced to commercial aircraft in the long run and will play a major role in improving flight safety.
